Rector Away

John Graham and his wife Sakena will be away to Colorado August 3–15. He'll be officiating at a wedding in Fort Collins on August 7. Many thanks to Nancy James, who will celebrate and preach on August 8 and 15. No “From the Rector” the next two Thursdays.

Your Feedback Needed

Please read the “From the Rector” article in the July/August newsletter (PDF). This article lays out a proposal, now before the Vestry, on same-gender marriage here at Grace. If you have any comments or questions about this proposal, please direct them to the Rector, the Senior or Junior Warden, or any Vestry member. The Vestry hopes to vote on this proposal in August or September, after considering parishioners’ perspectives.

Eucharistic Ministries

Contact the Rector if you’re interested in becoming a Server (acolyte), Communion Minister (chalice bearer) or Lay Reader; we’ll organize a training session and begin scheduling you in September.

Beyond the Gates of Grace: Free Clinic

The National Association of Free Clinics will sponsor a free clinic at the DC Convention Center on Wednesday, August 4. Prospective patients should call 1-877-233-5159 to schedule an appointment. Prospective volunteers can get more information, and register to volunteer, at www.regonline.com/DCCARE.
